Our Team

Christina Serina

Christina Serina was homeschooled from Kindergarten through High School and is now a second-generation homeschooler. She received a Bachelor of Science in Leadership with a minor in theology from College of Biblical Studies in Houston, TX. After marrying a Lutheran Pastor, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Texas, Arlington. She has six kids ranging from seventeen (a junior at Lutheran South High School) to a three-year-old. She started homeschooling in New Jersey when her oldest, John, was going into fourth grade. Because of a cross-country move, she has homeschooled in many different settings, including with two other families in NJ, alone (Covid-19), using online classes, helping run a Lutheran co-operative, and in Classical Conversations. She is in a unique situation to use her experience homeschooling older children, while also being fully invested in her younger group (ages 6 and 3). She would like to use this experience and knowledge of curricular and homeschooling options to help build a program with Ji Thompson and Holy Cross.

Ji Yoon Thompson

Ji Yoon Thompson was born in Busan, South Korea and immigrated at the age of 6 to the suburbs of Chicago. She graduated from the University of Chicago with her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (2014), Master of Arts in Social Work (2015), and Master of Arts in Teaching (2019). She was a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in South Korea from 2015-2017. She taught in Chicago Public Schools for three years before she pivoted to teaching in the classical tradition.  She was trained through Ambleside International and taught at the Field School, a Christian classical school in Chicago. She now homeschools her 5yo, 3.5yo, and 1yo in St Louis.
